Left passenger window is insanely stiff?

Featured Replies

The second in a two-part series of "Fixing my new Fabia"

2001 1.4 Classic, with manual windows. The left passenger window gets incredibly hard to wind down once you reach about half way. It does eventually get down, but I can hear what sounds like something being over tightened or winding up - I'm really paranoid something's going to suddenly snap and shatter the window or something. I assume I can take the door card off, then unscrew the bolts holding on that side of the door panel? But before I do, is there anything I should be aware of or looking for? Has anyone heard of this problem before?

When you turn the window down it should turn a cog like thing inside the door. Is this greased ok? It should have a small amount on there.

This is coming from an old Fiesta btw but the idea should be the same.
