Has anyone else got...

Featured Replies

A thin black strip down the middle of their windscreen running about halfway down? My Vrs has this and it looks like a heating element or a sensor of some sort. Anyone shed any light?

I think it is in all Fabia's no idea what it is for though. I used it to line up my blackvue camera in the middle of the screen

and one on the roof too?

LOL, nobody said it was connected.

I am on my 2nd replacement windscreen and mine is not.

I thought windscreen installers were obliged to 'return the car to the state it was in' a la pieces of trim etc?

I am sure they are,

and they will fit new external finishers etc.

I read your post in this thread.

(I am not a Windscreen Fitter tho, just hashy like some Windscreen Fitters are.

Never claimed on my insurance for the most recent screen.

& Reciept in the wallet for new screen when my car was a Demonstrator,)

Now say that the Skoda Factory 'missed connecting a wire',

hopefully the Diligent Roadside Windscreen fitter would point that out.

It's not where the wiper blade stops, depositing crud?

Definitely a line embedded into the screen. Mine's got it and on its original screen.

I can confirm my 2012 Monte has the line in the centre of the screen too.

There's one on my new Scout. Good to know its an aerial, i wondered what it was for.
