New Fabia Monte Carlo 13 Plate

Featured Replies

Ive ordered a brand new Fabia Monte Carlo 1.2 TSI 105 it should be here by the end of March. As i didnt want to wait 3 to 4 months build time, i didnt spec any additional extras.

Since ordering it someone has explained what MaxiDot is, someone else has told me that the new builds of the Monte Carlo will have this in as standard. The showroom doesnt know.

Also i am now wanting bluetooth. I have seen a aftermarket Parrot kit, but would like the Skoda original one is its possible. To make it all integrated, without having the Parrot on show.

Would anyone know where i would get the bluetooth unit from and is it easy to fit? Will i need anything extra to make it all work?

Thanks

According to the Skoda configurator the Maxi-Dot is still a £160 option, though I find it very useful and would spec it on a future skoda should I buy one again.

I also believe you can get the bluetooth module, it's not exactly cheap as I looked at retrofitting it and was put off by the price. I think you would have to have Maxi-Dot for it to work and would require coding too. This isn't too difficult.

'Maxi dot'.

Would be good if someone explained its function and use to people,

it is an odd name to give what it actually is, JIMO.

(the term is used regularly on here and nobody says what it does, so i will continue in that same way.)

If a Salesperson or Showroom staff can not explain or display the functions on a vehicle, or show what the Options do,

then personally i would go elsewhere to buy my car.

About time Skoda Salespeople got to know what is actually on 'New cars' that customers are ordering and paying for.

That is why i ordered a SEAT, Sales staff interested in cars & customers quite often in my experience.

Jesus George, you never let up do you!

You explain Maxi Dot then for this OP.

It must really be some cr4p sales people that can not be bothered to.

I met a cracker just yesterday.

Skoda can not be bothered to get their Brochures or online Configurator up to date or acurate,

and dealerships can not bother to make their knowledge current. 'Jesus wept'.

if you havent been confirmed a build date yet then sometimes you can add stuff on and change the order... if you want bluetooth then the maxidot (with full functionality) will come as standard as you need the better screen for the phone menus and stuff. if you havent specced bluetooth or maxi dot then it will just come with the standard screen and dials (doesn't look as good IMO)

for your information i have included a link to pictures of a fabia's instrument cluster with and without maxidot...

without: http://www.motorbeam.com/wp-content/uploads/Skoda_Fabia_TDI_Instrumentation.jpg

notice how on the one without maxidot the fuel and temp dials are actually on the screen rather than on the speedo and rev counter face... this to me looks a bit odd :/

hope this helped anyway
