...have been looking to change my 2005 2ltr diesel for somthing a little newer.

Mainly interested in a 1.6 diesel estate. there seem to be quite a few about on autotrader for around £11k....is it worth waiting a few more weeks until the new Octy mk 3 comes out?.....

.....do you think the 2nd hand price of current cars will come down when the new model is available?

I think it's likely. However it's hard to say how quickly the price fall will happen.....maybe in a month....maybe 6 months. Hopefully the dealers will start offering huge discounts on the last of the Mk2 stocks, which will help reduce the price of cars that you are looking at.
