Freeview etc from double din?

Featured Replies

So I've bought a double din head unit from a lad at work, seems to do everything really so for £50 thought I'd give it a go.

When he first bought it, he had the tv on it and could watch bbc news etc... But when the digital change over happend a few month ago it's no longer possible to get a tv signal.

My question, can I get like a digital reciever to watch freeview etc from the car? just a little thought.

lol why would you want to ? its much warmer to watch tv in the house next to the fire :) plus im not sure how your tv licence would cover you their guidelines can be funny i.e you can watch tv on a laptop aslong as the charging lead isnt plugged in away from home....

but eitherway im sure sky would be more than happy to put a dish on top of your car :)

Have seen a 12 volt digital receiver with a remote for use in a caravan a while back, but your problem would be a good antenna.

Haha thanks for the advice. It's not somthing I'm desperate to do, but just another one of them gadgets in the car for the sake of it.

Stupid digital change over!

The Clarion NX702 comes as standard with a digital TV tuner.

That's the one Luke! Would be somthing like that I'd do. How did you link the digibox up to a power supply?

I cant see this being a problem with the TV licensing company? I watch TV on my mobile phone on the train, bus etc etc.

The Free-view box was 12V so it worked fine connected to the cars battery, I never had any problems.
