Hi

Just joined the forum as I like to do DIY on my cars, especially when I get quoted high prices for something that I know I can do myself. However, sometimes you need to seek out the help and experience of “others” and that is where this forum will be invaluable. As my wife tells me, us blokes are just incapable of asking for directions or asking for help/advice. Thankfully, she doesn’t know about the phenomena that is the forum (and long may it stay that way).

We have had our Octavia Estate for 5 years now and we love it. Years ago, you would never have seen me in a Skoda, but one day back in 1997 we saw a Skoda at a set of traffic lights and we were hooked. Now, whenever I see an older Skoda, I always thank them for having the courage/conviction to buy a Skoda, because without those early pioneers, the rest of us would not be able to drive the cars we love.
