engine management light

Featured Replies

hi.I am sure this type of question has been asked a hundred times but the engine management light(think thats what it is,looks like a brake servo with a lightning strike through it)has come on.I think i have a slight blow on the exhaust, could this cause it.I previously had a lambda sensor replaced and was thinking it could be this.

any thoughts would be much appreciated.

It is a octavia,2l.year 2000.

thanks

It could be anything. It could be related to the lambda sensor, but it could be something else altogether. Where do you live? Somebody local may be able to scan it for you and see what the fault is.

Hi all. im not sure if anyone can help but my engine management light came on today (well think it is,its a engine shaped orange indicator) it came on as i was stationary and just about to turn the engine off,the car is still running ok and pulls well, ive had a look round and can see no signs of anything wrong or any splits in any pipes as im sure i would hear if there was, the only thing i have done differently is use normal unleaded instead of super unleaded which i always do, seems funny how yesterday i put the normal stuff in and now my eml has come on???? thanks for any suggestions guys.

You need to get the codes read to see whats at fault. Where are youlocated?

Scotter,near scunthorpe.

had fault read today, came back with intermittantly working MAF sensor, anyone know if these are cleanable buy myself or just replace it? ive had a quote for a original part from a vw,audi, skoda, seat, trade parts shop. and tbh the shop i took my car to has cleared the fault but said it will come back, if i do decide to replace it while the fault is cleared will it come back on with the new part fitted or will it recognise it as has been changed and stay off?? thanks guys

New MAF sensor and air filter fitted, genuine from skoda,vw,audi trade parts £88.00 exchange. All fitted and light stays off, running better too.awesome.
