Hi guys, I'm in need of a little help.

A few days after taking delivery of my new Fabia, my partner had a little accident with a jan donut.

Somehow jam has managed to find its way into the steering wheel control(ok you can all stop laughing now) it is the stereo controls that change Chanel & track.

I have tried switch & contact cleaner with no joy.

You probably will need to take the airbag out and remove the whole unit

You might even have to take it apart to clean it

Cocktail sticks and a scoop it out :-)

Think you need specialist equipment for a job like this ....

Citric acid or other fruit acids + electronics = not a good combination.

Take the wheel off and stick it in the microwave, if you get it right the jam will go thin and pour out, get it wrong and it will be FUBARed and will need replaced

Now for some lateral thinking.

Use a hairdryer and wick out the jam with a tissue.

Blow the hot air onto the tissue.

Hope this works.

You could do a final clean with contact cleaner, but try it on some hidden area of plastic first.
