Featured Replies

Hi everyone, got in the car and noticed the little yellow bulb light come on the dash booard, so thought a lamp has gone, and yes a number plate light had gone so thought ill get some xenon white light bulbs, changed them but the little yellow light on the dash still hasnt gone out anybody had this and is there a quick solution to fix it, cheers.

theyre not canbus bulbs... Did you change them to LED's by any chance? they often dont get picked up by the canbus system and flag up an error.

Hi Mate, yes led lights, is there a solution to the problem?

You will have to get yourself a set of error free bulbs, they can easily be found online. I'm no expert with electronics at all but I can only assume that regular led bulbs don't require the same voltage as halogen bulbs, so error free LEDs must have some kind of resistor built into them.

Anyone feel free to correct me if that is complete rubbish!

Basically...

Normal Halogen lights have a resistance of say... 10ohms... The canbus knows this...

LED lights have a much smaller resistance, say 1ohm.. The canbus goes WTF low resistance, bulb must be out. When infact it isnt.

You can get LED's that are "canbus safe" which have resistors built in to simulate the real bulb, or you can just ignore the light which is what I do.
