Apple printing - again

Featured Replies

Hi,

I decided to start a new thread as this is a slightly different problem.

My wife had some documents emailed to her last night on her iPhone. I printed them from the iPhone but they came out improperly formatted, e.g. portrait instead of landscape, or with the margins cut off, and in really small text.

I opened them on the iPad and printed them via HP's Printer control app. This time most of them came out correctly, but there were a couple of files which would not open at all on the iPad, but would open on the iPhone. I tried several free Word document viewer type apps, but none would open these two particular files.

In the end I cracked open a laptop and printed the troublesome ones from there. Bit of a disappointment I must say.

Is there some way to have more control over print formatting with Apple? I'm new to Apple stuff.....

thanks

Martin

Can depend on the original document format as well as individual printer drivers. I have seen Powerpoint presentations rendered in quick look become very messy (format wise). Always best to print from the originating app where possible.
