Just taken the plunge and started the wheels in motion to buy my first brand new car. Fell in love with the Superb as soon as I saw it. I'm getting the Estate 1.8 DSG Elegance, as it was tax and Interest free in the UK - as well as being a magnificent car of course.

Expected delivery within the next 2 months. My life seems to revolve around reading reviews, looking at pictures and any extra information I can find out about my pending purchase. I have become a complete obsessive.

So a big 'Hi' to all on here. Reading all your helpful posts I see there is a lot of love for the Superb (as there is generally in the motoring press). Which makes me feel I am amongst friends already.

I look forward to contributing to this site now and in the future.

Don't forget if something slides into the far reaches of the boot ....you will have to mount an expedition to go and get it ...and the other thing...it's an awful lot of car when it needs washing

Cheers Octygone, nice to be on board. All I need now is the car itself and I can start to talk with some knowledge.

The boot is huge, and the rear leg room. I have 2 tall teenagers and those features are part of what turned me to the car.

When we do get the car, I have made a deal with my eldest son that we both sleep in the back for a night; hoping the step is not too intrusive .

Bought big car for big teenagers = teenagers wash car

Interestingly I have chosen 3 different colours since I signed the purchase agreement, dealer has said they can't do those I have requested (Shark Blue after a month of waiting, and I loved that colour). Is this to do with the new Superb version arriving shortly and not making any more of the current one, hence lack of choice?. Ever-so slightly annoying, but still elated at the prospect of the Steel-Grey machine. They have promised that the colour change won't hold up delivery, would be a little annoyed if it does.
