iduction filter, superb 1.9tdi

Featured Replies

ok so i guess im like the rest of the people ive been searching for a bolt on k&n or other kind of air filter, for my 1.9tdi 06.

so like everyone else i couldnt find one, so what i did was ordered a cheap cone air filter (good upto250hp).

and this is what ive ended up with! post-102079-0-94150800-1366113792_thumb.jpg

everything runs fine no warning lights, gained about 2-5mpg while driving normaly, the throttle response is slightly better but the biggest thing ive noticed once i fitted this filter was how much louder the turbo whistles.

to be honest you would have better performance with a K&N/pipercross panel filter as a cone filter draws in too much air and you stand a grater chance of stalling the turbo. but if you do decide to keep it on there put a cold air feed directly onto it as its better for the engine to draw in dense cool air.

yeah ive ordered my cold air infeed, just waiting for it to come. to be honest I'll keep it on there as I want a remap etc aswell, there is abit of difference, even more so now ive had a decat pipe. cheers.

Where do you buy this?

Where do you buy this?

if you just look on ebay you should get a couple of different makes come up.

with the cold air feed try NOT take it from the lowest part of the car take it as high as possible because if your in an area that is prone to flood it will take in water and that will not do you any good  the best place is where the original in-take is.

lol cheers for that, yeah im going to put it where the original was as I cant see an easy way to mount it to the grill in my front bump!
