Door closing

Featured Replies

Got a mystery, when closing drivers door sometimes it goes with a noise of metal banging , it does not happen all the time but I just cannot see whats causing it . The rubber seals are all in good order, any ideas chaps?.

Check to dooemr hinge bolts are tights. Could be the door drops down a bit somtimes check all mettal areas for impact damage.

Couple of things I can think of...

We had a new fabia at work that the metal strut inside the door shut kept coming loose on. Made some pretty loud clunking noises and had to tighten it up every couple of days.

Other than that... Sometime my exterior door handle gets stuck open when I get in so it makes a bit of a clunk when it shuts upon the force of the door being closed.

I had the same thing happen to me and i originally thought that it was the check strap. It turns out that the door had dropped on its hinge, due to a bolt being loose, and the noise was coming from the bottom corner of the door coming into contact with the bodywork.

Check the bottom right hand corner of the door (when looking at it from outside) to see if it is clipping the bodywork.
