Misted up fog lights

Featured Replies

Had a 2011 superb estate for two weeks. Very pleased with it.

Minor hic up. The glass on the front fog lights is misted up. Spoke to dealer who said drive around for a week with the fog lights on and the heat should clear it.

Views??

Whilst that may work in the short term I'm sure it would happen again.

I had the same issue and my local dealer was happy to replace the unit for me under warranty so I'd recommend you push yours to do the same.

Thanks robdan.

I have to take the car back in a week. (I'm going to Central Skoda birmingham as it's nearer than coventry where I bought it) They say they have to replace a badge and tweak the power steering. So if it hasn't cleared by then I'll ask for replacement

+1, the condensation will just come back at a later date otherwise.

What's causing it then?

Seal will have gone. I had this on the headlight of a car I bought once, where I bought it on a nice sunny day - then found previous owner had drilled holes in the headlight housing to let water out. Only practical solution was to replace the whole headlight housing, as no guarantee that attempts to reseal it would actually work.

Cheers

Was a recall on the early cars , we had ours resealed or replaced

Might want to suggest to the dealer they are asking you to drive around with incorrect lighting as per the highway code, and if stopped by the police would they pay your fine?

oops...

haven't read the highway code since '66

My July 2012 (early 13 MY) had the same problem on one side, and was replaced under warranty.

Took it in to local dealer Central Skoda, who replaced both lights. The also said there were two actions to do.......

Replace two badges which can start to disintigate and reprogramme the electric seats.

All done under warranty.
