Power steering leak

Hi,

My power-steering rack started leaking from the input shaft into the foot-well. Oil dripping on the rubber mat was red, so obviously previous owner had filled regular ATF. Anyway, drained and flushed the system with VAG fluid, and it started leaking even more Before replacing the Rack, I thought I'd try one thing first though. In the return line to the fluid reservoir VAG has installed 2 restrictors, taking the diameter down to 3mm instead of hose id which is 10mm. This creates a back pressure in the return line and a higher pressure in the system. I replaced the hose, omitting the restrictors. Now the steering got a fraction heavier, actually better at high speed, but most importantly, no more leaking Might be worth trying if anyone else has a leaking PS.
