Help oem bluetooth mic problem help help

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

I need help I bought a oem bluetooth kit for my 09 octavia Vrs which has a bolero head unit.

I fitted it in preparation to take it to dealer to get coded although when I plugged it all in it started to work it's doing everything except when I make or receive a call I can hear the person but they can't hear me .

When bluetooth connects to my phone it says Vw phone not Skoda .

Can anyone help

Regards whoosh

you haven't fitted it properly for your headunit

I take it is a loom with small clear plastic connectors the plug that goes into the radio

For a columbus the mic feed has to go into the unit for a bolero they shouldn't be connected

You can change the name in adaptions

Hi

Thanks for the reply .

The loom does not have the two white connectors it has a green multi plug that goes into the back of the headunit it's a single wire which splits and goes into the same plug

Your last comment does that mean I need to get it change via vagcom

Regards Davy

Does the oem mic work with fiscon basic plus?

change the wires round to see if that makes it work, also check the label on the bolero to make sure they are in the right place

yes go into adaptions and select BT name it should show VW PHONE change it to one of your choice. If you have maxidot I think you might be able to change it there, not sure so have a look

no

Must go looking for it, my mic has started to fall off the pillar.

I had the same issue a couple of months ago when I did mine. What kit are you installing & i'll tell you if it was the same as mine & how I corrected it. BTW getting the dealer to code it wont do any harm.

This is the kit I bought

post-10772-1367067122047_thumb.jpg

It all worked without coding except the mic the phone book is scrambled and it does not show on maxidot.

It's booked into dealers on Monday so hope they can sort it.

Regards whoosh

looks like you have an early bolero that doesn't work properly with the BT kit. No fix I'm affraid other than buy a newer bolero

if your car is pre FL it won't display in the Maxidot

+1 I have this unit in a pre fl and no way of getting it on the maxidot

I'm nearly at the hammer stage please can someone dig deep into their vast knowledge and help me.

I've been to the dealers and they found an open mic fault it has been cleared .

It is now even showing on maxidot everything is working except the mic .

Help please

It is quite simple

you have a mic with 2x wires these must go to phone module, I'm surprised that they couldn't check the wiring while they had the car

Is yr mic fitted into the light unit and the light unit screwed back in? I say this as I screwed back through the mic wire on mine and caused a short....

Hi

I've checked that and it's fitted fine the diagnostic shows no open circuits

Regards whoosh

Ok I read yr previous post as having an open circuit sorry. Is it not working at all or just the voice control that's not working? Where is the mic clipped into?

i had the same problem it took me ages to work out that the bolero head unit has microphone in but not out, the wires for these connections need to be removed from the connector plug that joins onto the radio and connected straight through. ( there is a diagram on this web site somewhere that helped me)
