Extremly thin layer of paint on door handles?

Featured Replies

Have anyone else noticed that the paint on the door handles seems to be extremyl thin?

My car is about 6months old soon and i already have several dents and marks on my door handles on the passenger side and also on one of the rear door handles.

Worth mentioning is that i almost always travel alone and ive had people in the back seat maximum 3-4times.

Have anyone else seen this?

Not seen it on Fabia Handles, but on plenty of other cars where female passengers are careless with their jewellery/rings.

When my mum gets in my cars i open and close the door for her.

Not because i was brought up well.

I have noticed how careless others can be when being passengers..

I lent a car to my sister and she has ruined the leather steering wheel on one trip with her ring,

its been like new for 6 years up till then.

My pet hate is someone that when a door does not close when they get out of a car, maybe because they have the seat belt

stuck in it, they turn and try to push the door closed with their bum

When you open the door next, look at the handle. You'll see where the paint peters out.

I'm lucky I guess as I don't have that problem. But, as George says...watch how careless some passengers can be when getting in and out of your car. Notice how good your drivers door handle is wearing by comparison. Another thing you may notice is how some of the fancy hand creams used by females marks your clearcote. Some creams can be absolutely lethal to it and will damage the clearcote it if it has not soaked into their skin before they grab the handle. My bro in laws boot on his car is permenantely marked by his wifes handcream being left unnoticed on the paintwork. She only pushed the lid down once and left her finger marks on it. When he did clean it off it took the clearcote with it. The worst time for this is in the mornings when you are both going off to work all nicely groomed!!
