Been having some nice MPG returns on my mk1 vRS

Featured Replies

After changing back to a petrol, I've been MPG hunting and got this nice run from her yesterday.

:)

Nice, I got similar on a long run a few weeks ago, wasnt over 55 though

I average about 25, you are doing it wrong.

Used to get mid 40's on my daily commute

Getting around 36mpg on mine. My 1.8t golf is around 34mpg

Bummer you beat me by 0.7mpg, but were you keeping to the speed limit or going slow? lol

Boring,

Its not why you buy a vrs :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Yes than in reality i beat you as i kept to speed limits and just behaved like there was an egg under the accelerator pedal lol :p

Currently about to do a drive from Ashford to Warrington in mine..... lets see what i can get out of it :)

Hard to beat these for economy when driving like a granny. And performance when you need it.

Never seen anything that begins with a 4!

Its nice when you do see figures like that, but wrong car to buy if its what your after!

Never seen that on mine! Average of 25 - 30 if your lucky..........

You compared it with brim-to-brim figures?

Then you can adjust the trip computer accuracy with VCDS :)

Good idea.

Just trying to get the best mpg on my daily work journeys.

I do enjoy the car, but its nice to get nearly 400 miles to a tank.

1st week of having her back I only got 225 miles from a tank. :)

My first tank lasted 271 miles. More recently I got 389 miles out of mine which consisted of journeys around 16 miles each way averaging around 55-60 mph with a couple of quick spurts! However my mpg has been crap in the past couple of weeks and my car now stinks of fresh fuel outside when parking up! I suspect a boost leak also.

Motorway trips with the cruise on i now get about 35-37mpg

My daily commute ill get about 22mpg that's all town driving and start stop

its lower than i used to get mind used to be about 3mpg higher in both cases

Result, On the way up the Trip got an Av of about 43mpg! this was taking it easy as i didnt have a time frame. weirly enough on the way home i was a little more brisk and managed to get 38mpg av....

And the car clocked over 120,000 miles on the way back, Really impressed as my normal work commute sees anything between 25 - 32 mpg but that is only 20odd miles motorway work.

26-30 on my daily commute, depending on whether I hit traffic or not. Can usually see 40mpg on a motorway run, but that's driving like a fanny.

Drive to Birmingham airport the other week 100mph all the way on the motorway/A road averaging 30.94mpg according to Road Trip LE app...stage 1 mapped with cat back stainless, I don't think that's too bad
