a/c no belt on pulleys?

Featured Replies

i have the car 7 months now and with the recent change in the weather i put the temp in the car down to lo , its cool but not cold.i noticed the pulley belt to the a/c is missing so my question is: is there a reason the previous owner would have took the belt off other than a part failure? and what part would you suspect to have gone that made them do that?

My belt sheered off when the pulley moved slightly.

Maybe this has happened and the previous owner never noticed?

One reason to remove it would be a seized compressor. Try turning the nut in the centre of the compressor pulley.

Yes. Also, if you put a belt back on and it is seized, you will here the a/c clutch 'screaming' when the a/c is switched on.
