I wonder if anyone can help me, I have recently bought a 2010 octavia vrs tdi and have really strange noise that gets louder the longer i am stationary. It seems like its coming from behind the dash and is quite loud from inside the car but when you lift the bonnet you cant hear it. As for the noise it is really difficult to explain as ive never heard anything like it before.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Why don't you try and record the sound then link it to this thread for us to hear?

Hi there, I recently had a similar problem with my 12-plate vRS mk 2 Fl. I kept getting an annoying rattle that was coming from behind the dashboard near the glovebox. Skoda technician said it was a clutch pipe that had come away from its clip on the bulkhead. Could be same issue you're having.
