How difficult.....

Featured Replies

I think the fabia has folding seats so should fit..

Folding seats? Does that mean you'd be thinking of fitting it in the boot?! Lol

Yes, as above RWD all the way... Take a leaf out of Richards book

How about Quattro inside? :)

are you suggesting little in the front & big in the rear Damo?

I am guessing it would fit BUT, would the engine be very heavy and un balance the car? Most engine in a mk ii Fabia are relatively small.

Would the 1.4 be tuneable? More boost, remap and all the other bits you would need to tweak it?

....would the engine be very heavy and un balance the car?

Coming from a mk1 VRS i reckon i'd be used to it :D

Dunno about tuning the 1.4 TDI unit. I'd imagine it'd be a fair stretch to get what is at it's best a 105 bhp engine with a 5 speed box up to what i'm used to would be less work than sticking in Octavia running gear.

Hmmmm maybe these are the numerous reason that other than the VRS the mk2 Fabia remains largely unmodified :S

Try the 1.9 from the MK i in a MK ii, maybe the whole thing would swap over, one out new one in?

I know, how about getting a Citigo and then a 1.8T.... wait a minute, that is being done lol.

What ever you decide Pasty, I am sure somebody on here will know how to do it and help you, thats how Brisky seems to work.

Yeah well if that's the case i'd just stick with my mk1 :D

To be honest there's not really a lot of intent i just saw the lack of a "sporty" diesel mk2 Fabia mentioned again in a thread recently so it got me thinking and browsing eBay.....

I'd like diesel frugal-ness, torque and performance with CR engine quietness (relative to PD obviously) in a small hatch body

Not a lot to ask is it? :wonder:

something like the Seat Ibiza FR TDI i guess but without absconding to the Spanish side of the VAG empire

How about an FR engine? And running gear? That must fit... Although an R8 V10 in the boot would upset the Citigogo ;)

I don't think it'd be that difficult.

But if you looking at one of the earlier, more interesting looking, mk2 Fabias they are quite cheap anyway. So a far more straight car should be easy.

Yes, it'll understeer and try to throw itself wide if you hit the loud pedal before you are out of a corner.

But anyone with a mk1 VRS that's not well set up will be used to that anyway... :)

I'd just look for a SEAT donor...
