Cruse control

Featured Replies

Can this be retro fitted??? if so what would the price be

i have seen it for about £200, and i am actually considering getting it done when my superb goes in for its 18000 mile service next week

The pre-2010 cars have a different controller on the steering column to the later ones. The controller on yours (Skippy) doesn't need swapping over for cruise, so the price may be a little less. I think I've seen a best price of £135 quoted somewhere.

I think the job goes:-

1. Locate engine ECU (near wiper motor)

2. Fit single wire into vacant position of ECU socket (requires removal of anti-tamper bolts - Dremel required!).

3. Install same wire through bulkhead to socket on end of indicator switch.

4. Remove steering wheel and fit new indicator switch (£70 - eBay).

5. Refit steering wheel.

6. Use VCDS or equivalent to configure cruise into car.

7. Curse Skoda for not fitting wire and making the job much easier and cheaper.

HTH,

Mike.
