got given a Sony CDX-S2200 cdrw/mps unit for washing some ones car...havent got any wires or anything to link it up to the car but is it better than my current head unit wich is a Panasonic CQ-C1120AN apart from it doesnt play mp3's ...

any past experiences with any of the two?

..so far the panasonic has been superb...

Both headunits should use standard ISO connectors, so you could probably pull the Panasonic one out and put the Sony one easily enough.

No idea which would sound better, but if swapping them over's easy, you can try both and compare... :)

sony had to b the orchward one haveing a differnt clip head to the panasonic!

Purely going off my experience of audio/hi-hi in terms of the personal audio field........

Any piece of sony audio gear i've had (tape decks, various top-of-the-line CD players, miny disc players etc......) have all sounded pants with Sony speakers/headphones. Put something esle interpreting the signal, it's good.

Personally, in tems of audio signal, I've always had a soft spot for Panasonic. Usually good, the bass processing seesm to outstrip others.

Hopefully one of our ICE-specialist members might pop in and offer an evaluation. failing that, befriend your local ICE firm and chat to them. If it's a smaller outfit, you might have more chance of informtion sharing than with, say, the audio section of the local Halfrauds........

The local branch of http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/ was good to me for almost two months before i bought some gear from them. We used to have a member who worked for them too........haven't seen him around though.

Sorry can't be more help.
