I believe the map updates linked in the first post relate to the newer type of Amundsen and Columbus, as fitted to the MK3 Octavia. I had a play with one at my local dealer recently and noticed x2 SD card slots in the glove box.

 

My local main dealer told me the Amundsen+ in my MY 2012 Yeti is updated by connecting the car to the dealers system and downloading the requisite update file.

 

This was certainly the method employed when they flashed a newer firmware to the Bolero in my old Yeti.
