what locking nuts would you suggest?

Featured Replies

I've just bought a new set of wheels so I want to make it harder for thieves to help themselves to my shiny new rims. So, along with the original locking nuts I would like some suggestions for another set so that I have two on each wheel.

Are Mcguard the best option?

I have McGard Ultras. Certainly they seem like they would be too much hassle for any thief to bother with. You do have to be careful with them. If you don't seat the key properly it's very easy to strip it and you have to order another from Germany.

I'm always worried that a workshop ape will do the same but I think they're used to using these keys and I've never had a problem, just myself that cocked it up once.

Another yes for McGard. I have used them on my last three cars and have never experienced any issues with them. You can get them in a couple of finishes, at the moment mine are the gloss black ones that blend very nicely with the black Neptunes on my Blackline.
