1.4 TSI MPG -- WHAT do you get

Featured Replies

Hi.

I am getting my 1.4 TSI today and i am looking forward to see what kind of MPG ( ore here in denmark KM/L ) i can get.

But what do YOU get out of you car?

On my 1.4tsi on my run into work in a morning (7.5 miles mix of 30mph/40mph urban roads) I am getting between 45 and 50mpg on average - my best so far being 51.9mpg - home run is a little less due to more traffic but generally in the 40-45mpg range.

On longer runs (mortorway at 70mph ish and mixed urban runs I have so far been in the 45 or 46mpg range. . Although the figures have gone down a bit recently due to having the air con on quite a bit due to the very hot weather.

I haven't done a lot of longer drives yet so can't say how that will show but I expect that 50+mpg should be easily obtainable.

Given that the car has only done 500 miles so far I expect the figures to improve over time quite a bit and I use ECO mode quite a lot due to doing mainly short trips.

And the performance form the engine is excellent.Very impressed.

My first three brim to brim figures are 47 mpg, 47 mpg and 49.3 mpg the computer figures being 4 mpg higher

1.4 tsi estate now has 350 miles on the clock. On a trip today from Finchampstead to Eastleigh, on A roads and M3, average mpg was 56.9. Even if the computer is a little optimistic, I am pleasantly surprised! The best I ever managed in the mk 2 Octavia estate 2.0 fsi was 39mpg.
