vrs cr tdi weird noise over 70

Featured Replies

Hey guys. Just got home from my hols and noticed a dodgy noise.it sounded like a rubbing noise and was quite loud. It only happened over 70 and if I change lanes to the left so im imagining it is rubbing .The car wasnt over weighted, a few bits in the boot but nothing major. There are no signs of tyre rub so im a little confused. Anyone else had this? Cheers

Check the big black plastic under tray below the engine.

If these are broken (getting air off speed humps doesn't help) or loose (if the dealer forgets to replace all of the screws after dropping the oil) then it can get forced down onto the road surface at higher speeds and rub the road or even worse the suspension / brakes / wheels / steering.

had it, then it changed to screeching, but only 70-75. turned out my rear brakes were worn through to the metal. don't know why it was only at that speed, but a change fixed it.

Gave exactly the same weirdness on.

Cracking the window open slightly shuts it up which is really weird...
