Octavia mk3 rear fog light swap for driving in Europe

Featured Replies

Anyone any idea how to go about swapping the rear for light from right to left for driving on the continent? I am working abroad in Germany and it is a legal requirement to have the rear fog on the left. Currently mine lights on the right. Is this something which can be done myself or is it a specialist area? Any help much appreciated ;0

Hi and welcome.

If you don't move there you don't need to worry about the rear lights, because your car is registered in UK and is compliant with UK regulations.

Otherwise you have to swap the wiring for the rear fog light and for reverse light which are both on the wrong side of your car.

And have to replace the light units with units from main continent (or you will end up with red reverse light and white rear fog light).

If you feel confident enough I think you can do it yourself, but with a new car I would advise you to go to a dealer, because of the warranty.

Hi and welcome aboard.

I have taken my car abroad and never swapped over the rear lights.
