It is strong enough, the only drawback I find is that the bonnet when lifted is lower than original, have to wear helmet :rofl:

Not when it's sprayed up to be colour coded

could you measure the dimensions of the shock, Possibly a slightly longer one could be fitted to rise the bonnet another bit?

youl need to make sure it will fit between the two mount points when the bonnet is in the closed position. if its longer, you may need to adjust the mounting point on the bonnet

And thinking about it that won't be possible, as the next point along the wing is the rubber bonnet support, and it wouldn't pay to do anything with that
