Well, i've been on here nearly 8 months and have to say although i don't post much (I'm still the shy newbie in the corner) I do read a lot of the threads and use the search a fair bit!

 

Today i took on my Octavia...

 

First job, Airbag Light

 

1217 - Side Airbag Igniter; Driver Side (N199) 

            001 - Upper Limit Exceeded - Intermittent - MIL ON

 

Recommendation from here. Remove the under seat connector and solder the wires and cover in heat shrink, Remove fault codes.

 

DONE!

 

 

Second job, PANIC!

After removing the battery to fix the airbag, now i have Steering Assist Error, along with others on the dash!

1 Fault Found:

00778 - Steering Angle Sensor (G85) 

 

Quick search on here... Settle down go for a drive and its fine.

 

DONE!

 

Settle down to Job 3 Drivers indicator.

 

Read up from here that you need a Torx 15 and don't scared to be a bit rough!

Trip to Skoda, £25 Later and...

 

DONE!

 

Job 4... Air Con - No Cold Air.

00716 - Air recirculation Flap Positioning Motor (V113)

Someone on here said remove the plug while engine is running, Plug back in when off and reset faults.

That was that fixed.

2nd Error

00229 - Refrigerant Pressure 

            002 - Lower Limit Exceeded

Went off to get it Re-Gased

DONE

 

Still no Cold air... Search on here again

 

Little how to with VCDS and looks like the compressor is fubarred.

Never mind still a productive day and would like to Say Thanks to the Forum and its members!!
