Removed drivers door card to gain access to door handle cable.

Behind is a metal plate .do you just undo the bolts or is it more complicated than that.looks like window mech is fixed to plate.

I had the wife's Passat apart at the weekend, just undo the 10 No. bolts and pull it off, you may need to lever it with a screwdriver as it's sealed on.  you should be able to get at the cable from there..

sorted now .did look at that but was not confident enough.

my mate a mechanic did it for me.

replaced  door cable which cost less than £10

well pleased .

thats both sides replaced now on front doors.so if

having trouble with door opening try the cable first.
