unplugged cable in engine bay

Featured Replies

What happens when you plug it into the other connector shown in your photo?, it could be for a fog lamp, horn, ambient temperature sensor or other things.

Well all those things work! I'm not sure I can see a difference. It was directly beneath the bonnet latch and next to a connector with a yellow block attached to it.

It is plugged in now.

It could be for the bonnet switch then.  Be extra careful of any electrical connector with a yellow plug, as these are more often than not used for the airbag system.

similar thing on Briskoda's FB site/page was earlier identified by Tech1e as a fan control module connector. Same side, same rough location.

That one is plugged in. Not touched it but just noticed it because it was so bright under there.

Look into it and see if the contacts are browned (rusted/discoloured) or shiney still, if they are discouloured and the edge face of the plug (the meeting surface) is also dirty it's probably just a loom outlet for an accessory you don't have.

Just had a look at your picture, it looks like it should be plugged into the socket behind it.

I wonder if it's the one for the turn lighting that makes the car look stupid by lighting the fog lamp on the side you are turning into each time.

I plugged it in to said connector last night.

Cornering fogs work, bonnet warning showed when open before, horn works (tested several times thanks to general driving populous), lights work etc etc...

Thanks for the tip Lee about the fan. It could be that as the wire seems to run down towards the rad.

I don't know what it does but for some perverse reason this morning my trip computer read 4MPG better than it ever has yet on that journey!
