Software updates not available?

Featured Replies

One of the delights of our Superb has been the KESY (keyless entry system) allied to the memory seats and our phones. Depending on the key we use the car sets itself for her or me and looks for the appropriate phone.

The phones have also been brilliant, Samsung Galaxy SIIIs. However recently they seem to fail to connect. I' ve changed the phone names, taken off logs and managed connections eventually - but prior to this we had 3 months faultless service.

Yesterday, my phone was apparently refusing to connect and the MFD display showed the message "connecting" for all of my 20 minute journe although the phone was operable through the satnav screen. Having phoned Capitol Skoda six days previously (about something else) and had no reply I thought I'd try again.

I explained the problem and was told the car won't connect when it is moving, on reflection I wondered if it may have been the MFD was in settings but I' m sure you can't enter settings on the move.

The person on the phone then told me iwas a compatibility issue (despite the three months fault free operation) and said that they would check compatability. He then told me that if the car was built in July 2013 it was OK but had to check back for mine.

When I asked about software updates he told me that I had to stick withe software at build as they didn't update software - surely that's not true!

I also asked about the cure for the randomly reclining passenger seat ( there's a service updated listed somewhere on this forum), This was a complete surprise to him. He agreed to ring back immediately, 24 hours later I await a reply.

Are any of he other Skoda dealers in South Wales more switched on?
