Oil leak

Featured Replies

Attempted to navigate a speed bump earlier and managed to knock/scrape the under tray! :(

Lost a few screws and the tray was scraping on the floor. While I was underneath the car (tie clipping the tray back on) I noticed what seems to be an oil leak of sorts?

Ive took some pics to show (will upload once I figure out how to).

Any ideas? Any help/pointers welcome.

Thanks all.

It doesn't look fresh to me, like what you'd expect from a cracked sump.  I'd say that it's seepage from the the intake system at around where the hoses connect to the intercooler.

Thanks fordfan... heres hoping your right. Will keep an eye on me oil levels over the next few days just to be certain.

Seconded as to age; less certain as to cause.

To mak siccar, clean it up, and check for fresh oil from time to time over the next week.

Planning to get it up on a ramp at the weekend - will have a good look at it & clean it up then.

Thanks guys.

it's amazing how much oil that sound deadening can hold 'till it's disturbed  --banged or removed for another job
