What's this then?

Featured Replies

My Octy has one in the cubby hole at the side of the boot for holding a bottle of oil/tool kit etc.

My Octy has 2 to hold the warning triangle in place at the front of the boot

it's a Superb boot floor holding strap, worth about £2.50 IMO. HTH :)

It attaches the boot floor to something above it, to hold it out of the way whilst you lift out the spare wheel etc. Useful!

It sits just behind the handle to pull the boot floor up. Sure it's official role is to hold a fire extinguisher

Isn't there already a hook on elastic thingy for this in the superb?

Two of them on my twindoor, holding my warning triangle in it's Skoda-appointed place (just below the boot lip)

A ha, does it somehow feed into the metal loops almost behind the rear lights?  Will have a fiddle tonight.

THis is how it fits on the twin-door:

That definitely looks like the answer.  I wonder if that would work on the combi.

Quite an ornate piece of kit for such a simple task, I wonder if that's it's sole purpose e.g. what are the holes for?

One more question...

Why is it called the 'Boot Floor Holding Strap'?

I guess their primary purpose is to hold stuff in place on the boot floor. The twin-door (don't know about Combi) has two metal hinged D-loops on each side of the boot floor. I guess you can use these straps to anchor stuff to them?. There is probably a huge big long Czech or German word that describes it perfectly - it will have lost something in the translation into english!

Das ist eine "KOFFERRAUMBODEN GURT" ( literally a "boot space floor strap")

Great! Another word to add to my German vocabulary!

No need, the combo has a cutout behind the drivers side rear light that the warning triangle fits in.

Is there a cheapish one that will fit neatly (vertically) in there? I have one, but it's a bit too long, and do goes in at a slant.
