Hello new member - MK1 VRS - been lurking for ages

Featured Replies

Hello,

Have been looking at the site and posts for a long time now which have really helped us on many occasions:-

1.  Starter solenoid lead.

2.  Filler cap spring

3.  Rear door leak

4.  Glow plugs - warm engine up before getting the socket on and they pop straight out.

Now finally decided to become a freedom member.

Have owned a MK1 VRS sinc 2006 from new having recommended it and test driven it for my wife.  Had to get Skoda to reduce the power assistance but that was about it really.

It was up for replacement due to rear brake calliper sizing and glow plug failure.

We have had a look at some new cars namely the 208 GTI, but the buying process ( JTC 600 ) seems to have all gone to pot and I'm being treated like a mug who buys at rrp with all the extras.  I have to say although the handling, trim and kit was superior, the '200 HP' THP engine was not and I was not convinced I was getting better even revving the nuts off the 208 at 32 MPG average.

So back to the VRS - we're going to keep it and go for the full Superpro kit with offset bushes and keep for as long as possible.....

Thanks all,

Dave.
