help clutch broke

Featured Replies

Driving into the gym and the bit that holds the clutch piston in place has broken through so I can no longer push the clutch down. What can I do to fix it now until I can get a new clutch?

Mine went a while back and bodged it by using a long bolt to go across the pedal through the existing holes for the plastic end piece that would push the clutch switch in,was a bit clunky so wrapped a bit of gaffa tape over the end ball of the slave cylinder and then cable tied it in place, held up well but the pedal was a bit high lol

How did you get a bolt through that hole? Not exactly what you call wide? Also, how did you stop it from slipping off the bolt?

I went to attempt a gypsy fix today only to find the master cylinder rod was bent :( in those guides, it shows them trying to fix it in the foot well. Is there any way of taking it all off, fixing the pedal out if the car and putting it back UN without too much ball ache?

In the guide further in, shows removal of the master cylinder and clutch assembly.

I bent my rod back as straight ad I could with 2 sets of pliers.
