Talking of suspension....

Featured Replies

Has anyone else, who has had a previous yeti, noticed a change in ride between the two cars?

I ask because i believe there is.

To me the ride feels more compliant but still provides good stability and similar amount of body roll when pressing on a bit ;)

I was convinced it ws a trick of the mind but several people have commented that my new car feels softer over speed bumps and less harsh on potholes.

It's not fitted with 'air ride' is it

is there a difference in the wheel size or the height of the sidewalls on the tyres? SWMBO asked for a specific tyre/ wheel combo to reduce the harshness. It still handles pretty well yet is softer compared to the ones we originally test drove.

I've noticed a big difference between my vehicles........

I'm sure they made some small tweaks somewhere.

Comparing a 2010 and a 2012 it does feel more composed.

Watch it, mush!!

Lee, it has the same dolomite alloys as the old car.

The only difference is the tyres.

The old car had Dunlop all round and this one has Pirelli.

I'm sure that wouldn't make too much difference as the profiles are exactly the same.

Both my Yetis have been CR170 4x4 Elegances on Dunlops (same model of tyre). I'd say they're pretty similar - I don't remember noticing any difference when first heading off in no2.

The Pirellis have a more compliant sidewall but I believe the bushings spec would have been changed between new models. Any mild differences you have described I usually put down to factory fresh compared to 40,000 mile worn dampers on the older vehicle. :)

Yes and I have mentioned this before in an earlier thread, where we compared my 2013 model to my brother in laws 2011 and we both agreed the later model seems to ride the bumps etc. better. Something has definitely been changed

Ah, yes, I seem to remember that now.

I'm glad it's not just me. :)
