Cruise control switch not working.

Featured Replies

The cruise control switch on my Skoda Octavia 2005 Elegance PD TDI is not working. I have tried the fuse and its ok. Is there a way to open it up and clean the contacts or do I have to buy a new stalk.

Yes, split it using your fingernail, pull off the electrical wire. You need a hex screwdriver to remove 2 screws to reveal the contacts. You can clean with vodka and an earbud. I've done it twice in 5 years and it works each time. Takes about 5-10 mins to complete. Do a word search on this site and there are pictures and explanation with hex size if your unsure.

Have you checked your brake lights are working?

When it happened to me it was a faulty brake light switch.
