Rear Arb.

Featured Replies

Hi all.I am going to purchase a rear arb for my Mk1 Octavia Vrs estate.I am probably going to get the Neuspeed 28mm one.Just one question will I need to uprate the front one at the same time or do I just need to do the rear. Thanks for any advice.

You would be advised to fit the Mk4 golf R32 Front ARB if you are fitting a Neuspeed 28 mm rear. Fitting just the 28 mm rear will sure get rid of the understeer. However you will probably achieve oversteer especially the lift off variety which may catch you out ! The R32 front combined with the Neuspeed 28 mm rear will balance the chassis perfectly.

The 28mm Neuspeed bar could be potentially lethal without uprating the front.

A cheaper option may be the Eibach front and rear set (21mm front, 25mm rear) which is a nice balance.

New R32 farb is about £100 from a VW dealers + the poly bushes!

Well worth doing both at the same time....

Can't comment on the 28, but I have a 24 on the rear and standard up front which works well ;)

Whiteline do a 24mm adjustable rear bar which is in my opinion more then big enough.

All depends what front bar you're running and what kind of handling you're looking for though.

Hi.Just for fast road and general driving would a 24mm/25mm rear arb be alright with the standard front end or is it still advisable to uprate the front as well. This is all quite confusing.

I have just fitted Eibach front and rear to my Golf 4 motion, they are much heavier and stiffer than what I took off, the front one was a mare to fit, I also had to shorten the drop links by 1" as the ARB was touching the wishbones.

Rear was also a tight fit and took two of us to get him fitted.

They were from Larkspeed and cost £366 for both.

+1

This is the set up I have and best imo for all round balance for spirited driving and firm chassis.

Not needed for folks who just want a nice upgrade from std. A Whiteline 24mm rear arb is good on it's own and best all round mod as first suspension chassis upgrade.
