Replacing seat base cover?

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Newbie here

My name is peter and we just bought a ex demo yeti 2.0 Tdi Se

Unfortunantly when i was cleaning it today i found a very small tear in base of passanger seat

I went straight up to show the dealer and tbh there attitude stinks

You never noticed it when you bought it

We never noticed it when we sold it

So what do you want?

I priced up cover and its £85

I told them they can buy it in for less and the guy just walked away

I am not finished with them by no means, but in the mean time i am trying to find out if its easy to replace the base seat cover?

Tbh it may smart repair, but a 19k car why shld i not expect a new cover

Anyway if anyone knows how the cover is removed that would be great

Love the car also

Looking at the forum to see what extras i can add

Any suggestions welcome

Legally, buying a second hand car it is your resposibility to check for faults before your accept it, and if found point them out to the seller. If you really wanted to push it,  you could inform the dealer that the car is no longer fit for purpose and that you wish to reject it. Do that in a letter sent to the Manager by name, by recorded delivery. I bet they would be offering to repair the seat ever so quickly!!

Secondly you could get in touch with SUK and complain politely but forcefully about the terrible service one of their dealers is providing.

Further down this Forum is a section that allows you to read and post reviews about dealers. A lot of people don't realise it is there. I'm guessing the dealer you have dealt with might already be mentioned there.
