Hi, am Chris from Queensbury, West Yorkshire. Am an ICT Teacher in a Secondary School with a keen interest in cars and enjoy wielding a spanner, so long as it's within my limits.

 

Have been the owner of a 55 plate Skoda Octavia Elegance Tourer with the 2.0 TDi and DSG gearbox for just over a week. The car has done just over 100k miles and has been serviced (mostly by Skoda) twice a year from new. Am loving the car and hoping for many years happy motoring from it.

 

Had a few issues with the car yesterday evening - see here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/243533-the-mr-muscle-vnt-turbo-treatment-thought-we-needed-a-guide-of-sorts/?p=3401082 - but hoping to cure it without too much expense, as it's going to need a new cambelt in the not too far distant future, which will be expense enough for me right now.

 

Also not sure how often the DSG needs servicing as there is nothing in the manual to tell you and no record in the service record for it either?

 

Hoping to be an active member, have been a member of several of these forums, most recently for the Rover 75/MG ZT, and attended a few meets with my family.

Unfortunately couldn't make the meet. Was looking good but then got an urgent errand to help my parents.
