I tried to activate the settings on the dash Tried to shift the stick to get the dayine lights on but to no avail Wondering what it would cost and if they could activate the daytime lights if I brought the car back to the seller

I had this done on my 61 plate Octavia estate when i first got it, i simply took it back to skoda garage and said, can you turn the DRL's on for me as i cant access them in the menu.

 

30 second later ( literally) they were on and accessible through the menu. they have to turn it on via the diagnostic machine (or what ever they use)

 

I wouldnt expect to pay for it, if the bulbs are there and its a case of activating the tick box on VCDS in 30 seconnds why should you!

As above, yes they can. However a lot of dealers still don't know how to!

 

They first need to be 'activated' by the dealer, the option for you to turn them on and off (either in Maxidot or via the indicator stalk on non-Maxidot cars) then becomes available.

Should be no problem. Had it done on my 2009 Elegance and now my 2012 Elegance. However, first dealer I asked said it couldn't be done on 09 model, but another did it while I waited! Was done by special request on 2012 at delivery by said first dealer, so looks like they are learning!
