Over The Top Quiltie Boot Liner

Featured Replies

A confession first. I'm actually a Yeti owner who has strayed off his patch but as my query is more general (and may be of use to Octavia owners) I thought you might indulge me and let me ask members on this forum too.

I'm looking for a boot liner (floor, seat back and sides) for my Yeti Elegance and as it is going to be on show, because I never have the shelf in, it needs to look half decent. I've looked at products by Hatchbag, Boot Buddy and Titan but none of them make it easy to get to the spare wheel and the storage either side of it.

As it comes in four pieces the Over The Top quiltie looks like it could do the job but it is pricey. Has anyone had any experience of this make either in their Octaviaor another car and if so did they think it was worth the premium price? Was it a good fit, did it last well etc. (I must admit part of the appeal for me is it can be ordered in Tweed Green that could tone nicely with my Regency Green paintwork.

Thanks in advance for any advice or opinions.

Hi paul

I actually have a boot buddy fitted in my Octavia hatch and it works very well, fits perfectly and I can take it out completely if and when needed or get to my spare wheel in Literally a matter of seconds. Also I do not have to remove it to get to my spare wheel or in fact to use it with my rear seats down it just unclips from the back Piece and the sides fold down allowing me to access my spare wheel. I also have no problem accessing the side storage areas as the whole liner is self supporting I have nothing to do other than just pull the side of the liner away from the side of the boot to access the side storage and then when I let go it just springs back in to place.

Hope this helps

I'm still using a Quiltie which I bought in 19995 for my Audi 80 Avant. It fits the entire load area with the back seats down, but is just a base and I didn't get the sides. As cars have become wider it's now a little narrow for my Octavia but fitted well in my old Fabia with its length providing useful bumper protection. Quality has been great and its been washed many times after carrying mowers and bikes with occasional oil drips etc.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. Also found some stuff on the Superb part of the site. Think I will bite the bullet, if it last the five years it works out at half a pint of decent beer a week, so not so bad!

Finally bought and fitted the Over-The-Top boot liner and posting a picture in case anyone else has been thinking about one. Although mine is for a Yeti thought some Octavia owners might find it of interest.

So far the pros are it is very smart, fits well and because it is in four pieces joined by velcro retains easy access to the side pockets and spare wheel when necessary. Because the sides are velcroed to the seat back panel for the tip run they can be quickly separated to give a longer floor mat covering the extended cargo area; the bumper protector is also detachable so can be used to give further protection behind the rolled up seats. When it first arrived the side panels didn't seem long enough but these were returned and new panels made quickly and without fuss, so customer service good.

The cons are that the original delivery estimate of 3-5 weeks from order actually was 6-7 weeks (and confused by "waiting despatch" on the web-site meaning *haven't made them yet"!) and yes, as Graham observed, not the cheapest of boot liner option but there again the Yeti wasn't the cheapest of the cars I looked at - just the best!!.

The material is quilted and waterproof, so should work with the dogs, but it wouldn't be waterproof at the joins (unlike liners such as Hatchbag) so soething to be aware of for anyone thinking of giving them very heavy use.

Time Traveller!!?

RS2s were faster than a McLaren F1 (0-30mph) and occasionally felt faster than the Starship Enterprise when using the A52 or newly upgraded A50 as my "runway" back then. Warp speed...
