No mate. Lol

The wipers wk ok on constant but when on intermittent they don't do out.

And and 30 -40mph the a droning noise, worst on smooth roads.

Not sure but possibly a different fuse for intermittent? Tyre wear might be causing the noise due to tracking / wheel alignment being off?

I checked the fuses and they seem all ok. Is there a relay for the front wipers? It has just had new tyres on would it still make noise if aligment out?

Do you have auto wipers because to turn them on it needs to be set to intermittent.

Just checked and I think there is a rain sensor on the screen. Just put them on intermitant and chuck water on screen but nothing. When you click the sensor switch on the wiper stork anti clock wise it does one wipe then clockwise nothing. If it was a fuse I wouldn't expect anything.

If the stalk is left in the intermittent position and you turn the engine off and come back to it, you have to re-activate it, i.e. switch it to off and then back to intermittent, then its reset ready for action, then on the top the stalk you shold have a a little slider switch, you adjust this to change the sensitivity, personally for me I find auto wipers really annoying, keep mine turned off, despite adjusting the sensitivity they just dont work in the way I want, so I use them manually, I only ardered the auto wipers as it came with auto lights which I love!!!!!

If you put the wiper stalk to the off position and press it up one it does a single wipe then nothing (as long as its not raining)

Do you have climate control because the sensor in the window might be for that too.

If you have the books that came with the car there are a load of codes put them in this and you will se what options the car came with http://igorweb.org/equidec/ - edit I have just checked mine again and auto wipers isn't listed on the options

Tried all this but only does the one wipe then nothing and its been raining all day. Doesn't matter where the sensertivity setting is. The car has auto lights so I think that option came with rainsensor. Is it easy to check if its thaw actual señor on the screen that's broke?

Not sure about the sensor might be worth seeing if someone is local to you who has vcds.

Getting it scanned with VCDS would be the way to check for faults.
