Greeting everyone. New member, old fart! Just bought an 02 Fabia 1.9Tdi PD Estate, which, I hope will see me out, then they can bury me in it. I'd be glad if anyone with a PD engine can give me a head start on what I should do to keep the thing functioning well. All advice gratefully received.

Cheers

Welcome....

Hi and welcome aboard.

Thanks Maz and John(?). Hope to meet a few more members at the South East meets.

Hi John & welcome.

I'm just down the road from you being a R-Marsh dweller. We have Skoda's all round, me with the Felly & the wife with an 02 plate Fabia Classic. I'm no great expert on the diesels but it's good to see a new relatively local member on the site. Look forward to keeping in touch.

Hi Rob!

Just bought my Fabia Estate from Woodchurch, so keeping it all local. What colour is your Felicia (I'll guess Red just for fun)? A mate of mine in Folkestone has one and it just keeps going. I'm hoping the same will apply to mine, which by the way, is silver, so you'll hardly pick me out of all the other silver cars around. I'll have to make it stand out a bit if we members are going to wave at each other. I'm chuffed to have found a 1.9Tdi as I became aware of the engine through a mate with an Audi A4 that had done 225,000 miles when he sold it. Whereabouts are you on the Marsh and do you go to the South East meet ever?

Look forward to swapping notes sometime maybe.

Cheers

John

Hi ya,

Nice to see you're keeping it all local. Funnily enough your colour guess was partly right on the Felly, in that it's not red but it is fun, a Fun Pick Up in it's distinctive yellow ;)

I think the diesels if looked after can be very strong engines & will hopefully in your case provide good reliable service

There are a few of us dotted around the marsh & working mixed weekends I don't tend to get along to the SE meets. Did however recently make it up to Gaydon (nr Birmingham) for the national meet!

I'll now look out for you & perhaps you could put a distinctive feature on the car to help - possibly a very visible Brisky sticker!

Cheers,

Rob :)

Yellow eh! Won't miss you then! I seem to remember one in New Romney a few years back. I saw it at the petrol station in the High Street.

I usually have a sticker, a cartoon Death's Head with a red German helmet, on my vehicles, which you might see. I've also sprung 12 quid for Freedom membership so there'll be a Briscoda roundel to look for too. I'll try and find an obvious spot to put them. I was going to post an image of the DH but I'm not sure how to do so. Uploading my profile pic was a doddle but can't see quite how to do it here. Any ideas?

Cheers

Morning John,

Yes there was one running round Romney but haven't seen it for a while. You won't miss me if seen around Folk & I'll definitely look out for you.

Photo wise ideally you need to sign up (generally for free) to a photo hosting site like Photobucket. There you can up load your pic's and then simply copy/paste the picture link into your posts on Brisky & job done.

Happy motoring in the Fab!

Hi Dale and Steve! Steve, I'll doubtless meet you soon; Dale, I doubt I'll meet you but nice to know you. I used to buy books by post from a bookshop somewhere in or near Brechin.

Rob, you're right of course 'cos I've used PBucket before for uploading pics but after it being so easy to upload my profile pic by hitting the browse button and picking a photo straight off my 'puter, I thought maybe it'd be the same for other uploads. Oh well!

I think the only book shop in brechin closed at least 5 years ago just like most other things here :o
