outer cv boot replacement

hi all I am having to change both outer boots. is this a straight forward job its mot is on tues  so will need done asap and don't have the cash to put it into the garage. So will have to do it myself any help or advice would be much appriecated thanks bob

DB

- wheel off

- driveshaft nut off

- balljoint out

- knock driveshaft out of hub carefully

- cut old boot off

- put a stretchy/split boot back on

If you want to go into it further you can knock the universal joint off and put a normal boot on, this is the best option but can be more tricky.

I'd say the jobs about 5 / 10 so not very hard and not a great deal of time involved. But saying that if the balljoints a pain it adds time and if the driveshaft doesn't come out the hub easily it can also cause issues.
