FAO Anyone Who Has Fitted a Twintercooler!

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I have just purchased a Forge Twintercooler for a mk2 Octavia vRS TFSI.

I am looking at how it fits in front of the aircon rad (I know there will be instructions).

Looking down to the aircon rad, from the front end of the car, there appears to be two metal plates, running parallel to each other; either side of the aircon rad.

My question is, do these plates require cutting? I can't see how the hoses will hook up to end tanks of the Twintercooler otherwise. There is literally no access otherwise.

Thanks for any help.

I fitted one to my 57plate vrs with no issues at all just follow the instructions, if I remember right I removed 2 vertical tin plates to allow the pipework to fit, but a few years have passed but as said follow the instructions as they are good.

Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply!

I think the two tin plates you reference are the ones I'm on about. They are painted matt black and are very flimsy!

I take it these are not integral to the front end?

Did you notice any difference once fitted? I'm running stage 1 with intake and cat back exhaust. Really struggles in the heat, or after a couple of spirited runs!

Yeah those are the plates I am on about, they just came off really easy and are of no structural part of the front end, We did some vag com runs with the standard intercooler fitted and then some with the forge twincooler fitted, I was quiet surprised at the drop of intake temps especially when ambient temps where high, I didn't notice any power drop when the cooler was fitted as well. I was running stage 2+ though so was creating some high intake temps when standard but was very impressed when the forge cooler fitted.

Thanks for more info bud. Can't wait to fit it!

Did you notice any increase in engine temperature (coolant temp), with the Twintercooler fitted? Looking at the stack up of coolers makes me wonder how efficient the coolant radiator will be.

One last question.

Did the hoses fit with no modifications, or was trimming required?

Thanks for all of your help.
