Purchased my first Skoda on Friday 20/09/2013 (Vrs hatch Tdi) and I'm not really clear on what happens next, by looking at other postes I'm going to wait a while. How long will it take for any sort of conformation on my order?

Also what deals did you get off your dealer when ordering? Any freebies?

Hello, I'm no expert, hell I've never had a skoda before, but I ordered a vRS TSi hatch on the 1st september and my build week has been all over the place. Originally it was week 46 then it went to 43 then 48 and now its 03 of 2014, so that would be 19 weeks from ordering! Then another 3-4 weeks to pick the car up from the garage. I didn't get any freebies, but buying with cash I got a 14% discount on the car and the extras I ordered which worked out at about £3300 off (it would have been about £1200 if I'd used PCP)...

That's a long wait! When dose the dealer/ skoda let you know when the build date is? The sales guy said it could take up to 4-6 weeks for conformation.

It's likely that neither will let you know. As a rule you have to ring to find out.

 

If you're concerned about annoying the dealer, you can contact Skoda UK Customer Services for an update. They both access the same ordering system so will have the same information. The quality of response from Skoda is very dependent on who you get through to. Some of them are happy to just provide the information, some of them have a whinge about you ringing them instead of your dealer. My view is that they are there to answer customer queries, whatever they are.

 

I reckon you should give it a week or so and then call for an update. They should have a provisional (i.e. very subject to change) build week by then. You can then have hours of "fun" working out what the week numbers correspond to and how far away they are.  :sun:

Thanks for that, every time I see people's comments about there build weeks getting pushed back my heart skips a beat!

I think I'm going back to the dealer to see if we can come to a better deal, I didn't really push for anything at the time but after reading some posts on here I've got nothing to loose, I got some options on the car- canton,sunset,cruse,black design and metallic paint. I will try to get maxi color, MDI and spare wheel for free and a fixed part ex price. Fingers crossed- I will feel like I got a DEAL as I'm getting cold feet at the moment.
