Gas Pedal Problem

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I have a 2008 Skoda Fabia 1.4 tdi. The other day I noticed that the gas pedal feels like it has dropped lower, when compared to the brake it is very low. What do you guys think it is and will it be a cheap fix?

Thanks!

Hi salman,

Is the engine running ok? I mean by that, is it idling too fast? It sounds as if the throttle pedal spring has failed inside the unit. The gas pedal is a sealed unit with no user serviceable parts so if the spring has broken it must be replaced. I believe there are two different units so make sure you quote your vin number when ordering. May be an idea not to use the car until it's replaced, just in case the throttle jams open. I don't know if that is likely. Going from memory the cost of the new unit is in the region of £78 plus cost of fitting if you are not doing it yourself. Good luck mate!

I didn't know you could LPG convert a Fabia... (runs for cover)
